Program Overview

The HVAC program combines classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory training, supervised work experience, and spiritual development to prepare students for professional service and gospel ministry.

Training Includes

  • Classroom instruction in HVAC theory and electrical systems
  • Hands-on laboratory practice with professional equipment
  • Supervised work experience in real-world settings
  • Daily worship, Bible study, and Christian mentoring
  • Community outreach and practical evangelism

Program at a Glance

  • Outcome: SOLTI Certificate of Completion, EPA 608 Certification* and NATE Ready-to-Work Certification*

*Students are prepared to take the examination for these certifications.

The first semester establishes the technical and spiritual foundation for your HVAC career through classroom instruction, laboratory training, work experience, and evangelism.

The second semester expands your technical abilities through more advanced training, greater responsibility, and extensive work experience. You’ll continue strengthening both your professional competence and your ability to serve others through your trade.

You will learn to:
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical HVAC problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and system repairs
  • Handle refrigerants responsibly and safely
  • Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers
  • Work independently while maintaining high professional standards

Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll graduate with practical experience and preparation for recognized industry credentials that help launch your HVAC career.

Program Completion
  • SOLTI Certificate of Completion — Awarded after meeting academic, attendance, hour, and clearance requirements.
  • EPA Section 608 Preparation — Training prepares students for the federal certification required to handle regulated refrigerants.
  • NATE Ready-to-Work Preparation — Covers fundamental HVAC knowledge, safety, tools, and industry best practices.

  • External certifications require separate testing.
  • The SOLTI HVAC program is a non-accredited vocational training program.
  • Program hours may not automatically transfer to another institution.

Anthony Kun brings decades of HVAC experience in residential, commercial, and institutional settings. His teaching combines technical excellence with professionalism, safety, problem-solving, and a Christ-centered approach to service.

DAILY LIFE AT SOLTI

Life at SOLTI follows a consistent rhythm that blends technical training, spiritual growth, practical work experience, and community life. Each weekday begins with breakfast and Bible-based evangelism training, followed by classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory practice, and supervised work experience. Evenings provide time for meals, personal study, friendships, recreation, and rest.

Fridays conclude with local outreach opportunities and preparation for the Sabbath. The Sabbath is dedicated to Sabbath School, church services, fellowship, and time with the campus community. Sundays are generally reserved for rest, personal responsibilities, recreation, and preparation for the week ahead.

  • Foundations of Evangelism

    8:00 – 8:30 pm

    Each morning begins with biblical instruction that equips students to share the gospel naturally and effectively in everyday life.

  • Vocational Lecture

    9:00 am – 10:00 pm

    Technical classroom instruction introduces the concepts, systems, and theory needed for professional HVAC work.

  • Lunch

    1:00 – 2:00 pm

    A shared meal provides time to rest, connect with classmates, and prepare for the afternoon.

  • Vocational Work Experience

    2:00 – 6:00 pm

    Students gain real-world experience by working under instructor supervision, developing both technical skill and professional work habits.

  • Free Time

    6:00 – 9:30 pm

    Evenings provide time for dinner, personal study, friendships, recreation, and campus life.

  • Lights Out

    9:30 pm

    A consistent daily rhythm encourages healthy rest and prepares students for the next day’s training.

Where is Streams of Light Training Institute located?
The HVAC program operates out of the Streams of Light Gulf Coast Campus, located in Lumberton, Mississippi.
Can I study online, or is the training in person?
HVAC is a hands-on trade, and our students receive hands-on, practical training with the tools and equipment they will encounter in the field.
How much does it cost to attend?
Tuition for the full, two-semester HVAC program costs approximately $15,000, which includes room and board. Check with our recruiting agent for details.
Who can apply?
Anyone who desires HVAC training and is willing to follow the student guidelines and standards of Streams of Light Training Institute may apply.
What happens after graduation?
After graduation, students are equipped to pursue employment opportunities within the HVAC industry, apply the practical skills gained during the program, and fulfill their missional calling.

  • Applicants who will generally be at least 18 years old when the program begins. Exceptions may be appealed.
  • High-school graduates, or applicants who have completed an equivalent secondary education.
  • Students physically able to meet the demands of the program and fluent in English.
  • Baptized Seventh-day Adventist members. Exceptions may be appealed.
  • Students committed to personal devotion, Christian conduct, and the school’s lifestyle standards.
